Volunteer & Community Service at Belle Melodie & Ensemble Pro
Who can volunteer: Students (with age-appropriate roles) and families.
Where you can help
Recitals: front desk/usher, stage crew & setup/tear-down, emcee/hosting, reception, photo/video recording.
Community service concerts: senior centers, libraries, schools, hospitals/veterans homes.
Free community classes: rhythm circles, instrument “petting zoo,” beginner workshops.
How it works
Sign up: We publish a simple shift signup before each event.
Briefing: 10–15 min orientation on duties & safety; minors may require a parent on site.
Hours tracking: Sign in/out on our sheet or QR form; a staff supervisor verifies hours.
Documentation: We provide official service-hour letters, complete school forms, and maintain a running transcript of hours.
Awards & recognitions we help with
-
President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) — we are a Certifying Organization and submit your verified hours. Temporarily Suspended.
-
Daily Point of Light Award — national recognition for outstanding volunteers.
-
The Congressional Award (14–24) — includes a Voluntary Public Service track; we verify hours.
-
California recognitions — e.g., Governor’s Volunteer Awards/California Volunteers, plus school-based honors like the California Seal of Civic Engagement (through your school).
-
Local certificates — letters or certificates from city/county officials for community concerts.
(We’ll guide families on eligibility, deadlines, and submissions.)
Policies
Dress code and conduct follow recital standards; photography/video requires site permission.
Some roles have minimum age or require a parent present.
Hours are for unpaid service only; teaching/performing must be voluntary for credit.
