Tuition Adjustment Policy

  • Rate Adjustment Schedule & Mechanism:

Tuition rates are reviewed twice a year, on August 1 and January 1. The current rate table and the schedule for the next adjustment will be published on this page.

Factors influencing rate increases may include: rental costs, CAM (Common Area Maintenance) fees, utilities, overhead expenses, insurance premiums, Consumer Price Index (CPI) changes, labor costs, marketing and outreach, technology upgrades, and regulatory compliance.

Rate increases will be moderate and reasonable, typically ranging from 5% to 10%, unless one or more of the factors listed above experience a significant increase.

  • For Existing Customers:

On August 1:

Existing customers with an active plan will retain their current rates, except for those whose plan exceeds one year. Customers with plans longer than one year and a good attendance record may, at the school’s discretion, be offered the previous rate as a courtesy.

On January 1:

On January 1, all existing customers will have their rates reviewed. Any customer whose current rate has been in effect for more than three months will be adjusted to the applicable updated rate. The manager has the discretion to decide which rate to apply, based on an overall consideration of factors such as total tuition, attendance, recital involvement, volunteering, donations, exam/competition results, teacher feedback, referrals, and other relevant contributions.

A communication process will be conducted, and verbal or written confirmation will be obtained from the customer before any adjustment takes place.

Customers who do not wish to accept the adjusted rate may choose to: switch to a different teacher (e.g., from Level III to Level II, or from Level II to Level I), reduce lesson duration (minimum 30 minutes), enroll in the non-peak hour/gap time discounted rate program (availability varies by teacher; please contact Customer Service to confirm), or terminate their current subscription.

  • For New Customers:

New customers will always be charged the lately updated tuition rates.

  • For Return Customers:

A “return customer” is defined as any former student who:

Previously held an active subscription or group class enrollment, and

Has been absent from lessons for more than 30 consecutive days, without an active holding period in place.

Rate Application

Return customers will be subject to the current published tuition rates at the time of re-enrollment.

Exception: If the return occurs within 6 months of the last active lesson date, the previous tuition rate may be reinstated at the manager’s discretion, considering: Previous attendance record; Participation in recitals, competitions, or exams; Volunteering or donation contributions; Teacher feedback and overall engagement with the school

Re-Enrollment Fee

A re-enrollment fee may apply, equivalent to the current registration fee for new students. This fee may be waived/discounted for customers who: Left due to relocation or health reasons with documented notice, or Return within 3 months of their last lesson.

  • Policy Amendments

Belle Melodie Music Art School reserves the right to modify these policies at its sole discretion.
