Amendment One (December 1, 2024)

Class Commitment, Cancellation & Make-up, Holiday Absence, Bill Adjustment Rules of Quasi-Senior, Senior & Master Level Teacher

Applicable for Teacher Level II and III (Quasi-Senior, Senior, & Master Level Teachers)

Effective from December 1, 2024, Belle Melodie Music Art School implements the following policies for students taking lessons with Quasi-Senior, Senior, and Master Level teachers. These policies differ from Level I teacher guidelines due to the advanced nature of these classes.

1. Commitment
Only weekly recurring class schedules are accepted at these levels.

Students must reserve a fixed day and time for their lessons to ensure consistent progress.

2. Cancellation and Make-Up Rules
Excused Cancellations: A certain number of cancellations are excused; however, students are required to schedule a make-up class.

Class Gaps: No more than 12 days should pass between classes to maintain progress. Beyond this period, the student will be considered behind the syllabus.

Teacher Leave: If the teacher is unavailable, Belle Melodie will arrange for a substitute teacher of the same or higher level to ensure the student’s progress remains uninterrupted.

3. Holiday Absences
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Spring Break: Absences during these weeks are acceptable if requested in advance.

Students are allowed a maximum of 4 weeks of excused absence during the summer break without impacting their syllabus. Absences exceeding 4 weeks will classify the student as having dropped out and will require a re-audition upon return to resume lessons.

To avoid the need for a re-audition for absences longer than 4 weeks, students may:

Take lessons with a secondary teacher at their vacation location, or

Attend online classes with their primary teacher during their vacation.

4. Billing Adjustments
Make-Up Policy: All missed classes must be made up; therefore, tuition adjustments are not applicable on the parent’s side.

Teacher-Initiated Cancellations: If a teacher cancels a lesson and the school cannot arrange a substitute, a billing adjustment will be applied in the following month’s invoice.

5. Class Donation
Parents or students who have accumulated an excess of class credits they cannot utilize in the foreseeable future may opt to donate these credits to support students who are unable to afford tuition.

6. Policy Amendments
These rules are effective as of December 1, 2024.

Belle Melodie Music Art School reserves the right to modify these policies at its sole discretion.
