Bio

Born in 2011, Grace Wang began her piano journey at the age of 8. At 10, she started studying under Michelle Meixuan Li, a highly respected educator known for her unique teaching methods and deep dedication to her students.

Grace’s musical talent began to shine during her very first competition — the 10th GOCAA International Music Competition. Though she was nervous and inexperienced, even pausing mid-performance during the preliminary round, a particularly brilliant moment in her playing earned her an exceptional invitation to the final round in New York. There, she won the Bronze Award, a milestone that greatly boosted her confidence.

The following year, Grace participated in the 11th GOCAA competition. She won First Prize in the preliminary round and competed in both the amateur and professional divisions at the finals. She earned a Silver Award in the amateur division and a Bronze Award in the professional division — a remarkable achievement for such a young pianist.

After the competition, Grace joined a study tour to several top music schools and universities, an experience that broadened her horizons and planted the seed of a future career in music. She is currently practicing Chopin’s Ballade and preparing for the MTAC State Level Competition, along with several international competitions.

Grace Wang has participated in master classes with distinguished artists including Lisa Yui, a Yamaha Artist and faculty member at both the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School, as well as Dr. Dmitry Rachmanov, Chair of Keyboard Studies at California State University, Northridge.
